Girls Junior Varsity Soccer Lose to Hopinkton

Hopkinton, New Hampshire - On Thursday, the Lady Lakers junior varsity dropped a 5-1 match to Hopkinton. Slow movement from the Laker attack resulted in some effective Hopkinton counter attacks early in the game. However, our Lady Lakers started to pass through the middle to the outsides and up to the forwards as the game progressed.
Junior Madison Hughes had some great saves in the first half and distributed the ball well. Junior Sienna Regean notched the lone goal for Sunapee to put them on the board. Sophomore Lilly Kelleher created many opportunities with her attack towards goal, and almost netted a few. Junior defender Olivia Murgatroy stopped Hopkinton outside backs from gaining the edge to cross it in. She kept the ball in front and laid it to her midfield. Although the Lady Lakers lost, the coaches have been pleased with the continued improvement and effort. They will come back to play against Fall Mountain Regional High School on Wednesday at 4.
